Vision Kerikeri was formed in September 2004 to oppose a 24.7 metre tall tower block Stage 2 building to be built by Kerikeri Serviced Apartments on the Butler Roadsite and to advocate a Kerikeri/Waipapa Structure Plan.

This past year results;
During 2007 financial year (to 31 March'08)
We revealed publicly that The Butler Road Stage 2 redesigned building, which had been reduced from 8 levels to 7 levels, would be only 200mm (two feet) lower than the original design and that the revised design also included an additional 3 to 4 storey building, an increased building volume of 2500cu.m.
We represented to Council, that such a significant change, required public notification before granting a consent
FNDC advised the developer that the revised design needed to be changed from a variation to the previous consent to a new consent which would need to be notified.
The developer offered to abandon the project if Council bought his land and it did so in February 2008
We made a lengthy written submission and a presentation about The Structure Plan
Stated that before any changes are made to The Domain, public experience of The Heritage Bypass and new sports fields should be gained
Made submissions and/or reports to FNDC about five developments along KK Road to retain the special amenity value.
- Made a lengthy submission re proposed new wastewater system
